Events

Papou’s Mouse hosts a variety of events for our families throughout their journey where our matched families can bond, blow off some steam, and have some fun.

Our Annual Events

Papou’s Mouse brings families together with fun annual events like the Spring Fling, Summer Bash, and a lively Friendsgiving party!

Spring Fling

During Spring Break we get together with all our families for an outing for a whole lotta fun.

Summer Bash

At the end of summer break, we get together with all our families for a day at the park. We will BBQ, be silly, and make new connections and further existing ones.

Friendsgiving

We go off the hook for Friendsgiving! We throw a themed dinner party that has even the most reluctant of kids finding a way to let his/her guard down and do some partying! (We find the parents need less encouragement.)

Our annual events are opportunities for:

  • Matched families to bond
  • Papou-families to meet other Papou-families
  • Mouse-families to interact with other Mouse-families, and gain wisdom and support from the families who have participated before them
  • Previously enrolled families to support the current families

Special Events

We facilitate outings such as a day at Dave & Busters, a picnic in the park, or a day at an amusement park. We also create customized “My Moment” events to meet the Papou family’s specific needs/wants such as “Christmas in June”. And, we host a themed Friendsgiving annually for all to attend.

A “My Moment” Event - Elijah Ceephas & Chef Elijah

We gave Elijah Ceephas a special moment with a surprise visit from his Jr. Chef idol- Elijah Zeleya (Chef Elijah). Elijah Ceephas had watched Chef Elijah on Master Chef Junior Christmas Special with his family. They loved Chef Elijah and always rooted for him. They would sit side-by-side on the couch and cheer him on. “You got this Elijah!” never did Elijah imagine that one day he would meet chef Elijah. And then, on June 23rd, 2024, Chef Elijah was in their kitchen cooking up a 4-course meal. And yes, it was deeeeeelicious!

Bell Ringing for Dominique Hernandez

Ringing the Bell is a HUGE moment in the child’s cancer journey. It signifies that the worst of it is over, that the child has responded well to the treatment, and that period has come to a close. It is an incredibly emotional celebration.

We provided a Ringing the Bell Celebration at the hospital for 5-year-old, Dominique Hernandez.

Father’s Day Top Golf

The Wolf Pack a support group for Father Figures of children fighting cancer allows the men to be vulnerable and let their guard down around other men with similar experiences. This Father’s Day event allowed the men a moment to refuel and recharge before going back to their reality of childhood cancer.
