About
Papou’s Mouse’s mission to make sure no one has to fight childhood cancer alone- is unique.
A diagnosis of childhood cancer is downright terrifying for the child and their parent(s).
Nevertheless, far too many children and their parents/guardians feel isolated or adrift at the time when they most need support.
Connecting the children and parents who are fighting the fight with survivors who’ve been there themselves is transformative, powerful work. By building bridges between families in need of emotional support and survivors of childhood cancer, Papou’s Mouse can answer the call to rally together and, with love and compassion, help those who are fighting the fight.
Survivors of childhood cancer understand the unique challenges faced in the fight. They understand the need to be really heard, free from judgment, and well-intentioned advice. Extended family and friends are oftentimes at a loss to truly give the type of support and help most needed. Survivors understand the experience and can serve their vital needs with real empathy and compassion.

About Us
Papou’s Mouse, Inc. was founded by Luby & Vincent Myrthil after their experience with childhood cancer with their son, Alexander, who goes by the nickname, “Papou”.
We are a young, ambitious non-profit that provides a crucial service connecting families battling childhood cancer, with “survivor families”, those who have been through childhood cancer. Survivor families have first-hand knowledge and thus are best equipped to guide and support. The match-making and framework are carried out under the guidance of psychologists, providing a foundation for the families to connect.
In addition, we provide opportunities for bonding, sending the families on adventures, and helping to make wishes come true. Through these services, Papou’s Mouse can lessen the extreme burden that these childhood cancer families face during a time fraught with fear, uncertainty, and overwhelm by providing much-needed, experienced, and capable support.
We have a small, growing, youthful, and diverse board of directors. It is chaired by Luby Myrthil- a high-energy, will-move-mountains-force of a woman (attorney by day, mother to four, and director of Papou’s Mouse), and is supported by a few (brilliant) dedicated volunteers. If you would like to know more about donating, volunteering, or joining our board, please email us or just give us an old-school phone call!
